Week 1 Development Log

Project Phase: Setup

Accomplishments:

Player Prototype & Controls:

  • Included a controllable player character to the scene.
  • Implemented basic input handling (movement, rotation, camera follow).

Multiplayer Foundation:

  • Utilized Fusion 2 for client–server architecture and network session management.
  • Verified connection workflow and state synchronization across multiple clients.

Test Environment:

  • Created a dedicated TEST scene to enable rapid iteration and verification of core functionality.

Upcoming Steps:

Driving Mechanics

  • Implement vehicle movement physics, steering, acceleration, and braking.
  • Network‐replicate vehicle input and state to enable smooth multiplayer driving.

Combat Systems

  • Use shooting mechanics: projectile/raycast shooting, hit detection, and damage application.
  • Sync shooting events and health updates across the network.
